Exercise Improves Asthma in Kids

Reuters has reported that a study in Brazil at the University of Sao Paulo has found that children with asthma are likely to breather easier if they exercise well.  Keep in mind that this study was done on children that were already on asthma medication.

Exercise in general was found to curb the feelings of being out of breath that can be brought on by physical activity. Aerobic training was performed at moderate to high intensity twice a week for 16 weeks. Moreover, daily doses of inhaled steroids were reduced by over half t in children who participated in the exercise training, while the doses remained the same or increased for children who did not exercise at well. It is possible that exercise may be a prescribed management strategy for children who suffer from asthma in the very near future.
